Adebayor wants to prove himself but Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sell him

In 4 seasons with Tottenham Hotspurs, Adebayor has made a total of 87 appearances and managed to score 35 goals. The Togolese striker is currently earning £100,000 each week with the Premier League club but for the past few weeks and even months, the English club has been attempting to sell him as he no longer plays an important role and want to slash down their wage bill.

Adebayor has 1 more year left in his contract and he is actually eager on stepping it up and prove his worth but Tottenham Hotspur have lost hope in the player as the club in the Premier League are determined to sell or release him during the summer transfer window.

In the official twitter account of Emmanuel Adebayor, the Togolese player demonstrated his will to continue performing with Tottenham Hotspur as he said: ‘’Looking forward to pre-season’’.

The main problem that Adebayor is facing at the White Hart Lane stadium is the fact that other players have stepped up and Mauricio Pochettino has a plan of offloading some of his not needed players in order to give others a chance to get more playing time.

Harry Kane emerged as the best player of Tottenham Hotspur of the previous season as he scored 21 goals and now Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign an offensive player that he can align to play alongside with his youngster.

Roberto Soldado has also been a disappointing figure and the club is looking to sell him as well.

Christian Benteke of Aston Villa is one of the top summer targets of Mauricio Pochettino and the manager is prepared to use Adebayor as bait in order to lure in the 24 year old Belgium forward who was able to score 13 goals for Aston Villa in the previous Premier League season.

Tottenham Hotspur will have it difficult trying to offload Adebayor even if he used as bait. If Tottenham are not able or willing to pay the wages of Adebayor, not many other clubs would desire to do that. Aston Villa does not desire to pay such a high salary for a player that for the past few years has seen his playing career taking a downhill path.
