Adebayor Wants Europa League Spot

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has been excellent for Tottenham in the second half of the campaign, says that he wants the club to win the remaining four matches of the season and seal a Europa league spot. The prospect of qualifying for the Europa league still remains available for Tottenham, who appears to have given up on the dream for top four place. The race for the top four will now be contested between Arsenal and Everton in the four matches of the season. Spurs are a distant sixth with a seven-point difference.

They needed to teams to drop more than five points in the remaining matches and Adebayor is likely to concede the race for the Champions League. However, he will be aware that the prospect of finishing without any form of European football next season is a distinct possibility due to the threat from Manchester United for the final Europa league spot. If Arsenal win the FA Cup, then Tottenham are almost guaranteed Europa league football. However, if Hull city win the competition, then it would leave only one spot through league positions.
Manchester United are five points behind Tottenham after having played a game less than their opposition. They are expected to improve significantly after the appointment of Ryan Giggs as their new manager.

“As we approach the end of this season, we have to keep our heads right for these last four games and win them for the fans. We have had some very good performances this season but we have had too many poor ones as well and it’s important we learn from our mistakes next year. It’s up to us to put everything into these remaining games, pick up four wins and give them renewed hope and enthusiasm for next season,” said the striker ahead of the Fulham match.
